Ford Bronco Drive Modes

2021 Ford Bronco center screen

There’s a new off-roading game in town, and it’s called the used Ford Bronco. The off-roading SUV you’ve come to love in the past is back, and it’s packed with a stacked roster of off-road modes called G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes. This is a system that optimizes the suspension, transmission, drivetrain, traction control, and throttle sensitivity for Richmond drivers looking to make a statement on the trails.

These modes are standard on every Bronco, including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand, with the option to upgrade and get Mud/Ruts, Rock Crawl, Baja, and Tow-Haul modes. Want to learn more about these G.O.A.T. Modes? Short Redmond SuperStore, your pre-owned Ford superstore, has a guide ready for you!

Available 2023 Bronco G.O.A.T. Modes

  • This is the default mode, and it’s fine for everyday driving, giving you an optimal performance balance all around.

  • This tunes the engine for maximum fuel efficiency, ideal for city and highway driving.

  • You’ll get improved performance, handling, and throttle response when you pick this mode. If you’re looking to make your drive more sporty, this is the pick for you!

  • When you meet snow or ice, the Slippery mode should be the choice for you. It slows down the throttle response and optimizes your gear shifts to make quick work of wet and slippery surfaces.

  • You’ll be able to command this mode when you’re on loose surfaces like sand or snow, with the help of the four-wheel drive lock that improves braking performance.

  • If you’re in the mud, you’ll want to pick this mode. The four-wheel drive lock is engaged, and it transmits the power to all four wheels evenly. And with increased traction and stability control, you’ll be able to get more wheelspin for more momentum.

Rock Crawl

  • This mode engages the rear differential and four-wheel drive locks while turning on the front trail camera at low speeds so you can see the approaching objects more clearly.

  • You’ll want to engage this mode when you’re doing high-speed off-roading on loose terrain. You’ll get the torque and throttle response you need to get extreme performance out of your Bronco.

  • And we all know it wouldn’t be an SUV without the ability to tow stuff through Winchester. You can pull up to 4,500 pounds with enhanced towing power and upshifts that take place at higher speeds than normal.
